RAMP FROM NEVILLE ISLAND TO SOUTHBOUND I-79 CLOSED THIS WEEKEND

 

Pittsburgh, PA - PennDOT District 11 is advising motorists the on-ramp from Grand Avenue at the Neville Island Bridge (Exit 65) to southbound I-79 in Allegheny County, will be closed this weekend, Sept. 26-29, 2008.

 

The ramp will be closed from 7 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 26, around-the-clock through 5 a.m. on Monday, Sept. 29, 2008, for expansion dam replacement.

 

Signs will be posted to guide motorists during the closure.

Posted Detour:

*       Take northbound I-79 to Exit 66 (Glenfield Road)

*       Exit and turn left onto Deer Run Road

*       Make left onto southbound I-79

 

The work is part of the $61 million Interstate 79 Section 35M improvement project from the Neville Island Bridge to Interstate 279 in Aleppo, Robinson, Neville and Ohio townships and the Boroughs of Glenfield, Sewickley Hills and Franklin Park, Allegheny County.

 

 

The prime contractor for the project is the Trumbull Corporation, of West Mifflin, PA, in a joint venture with Lindy Paving Inc. of New Castle, PA. The overall project will be completed this fall.
